Clarence Mittrucker

Mittrucker, 60, will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Living Word Outreach Ministries Church in Spencer. Rev. Al Dean will officiate the service.Interment will be conducted at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.Clarence, son of Leo and Joyce (Coyle) Mittrucker, was born Oct. 10, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri. Clarence was raised by Joyce and his stepfather, Michael “Mike” Schwarzkopf.Clarence was previously employed as a cook at Truck Haven, Baily’s, the Hotel and the Spencer Hospital, all in Spencer. He also cooked at Cobble Stone in Sibley and was currently at Longhouse-Northshire.Clarence passed away suddenly on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step father; and a brother, Leonard Mittrucker.He is survived by his beloved dog, Max; his daughters: LeeAnn (Mario) Rosales of Spencer, Iowa and April Shotpouch of Lincoln, Nebraska; their mother, Deb Mittrucker of Spencer, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; two brothers: Leo and George Mittrucker; his aunt, Ruth Lowery; nephews; several cousins; as well as other relatives and many friends.Arrangements are being handled by Martin-Mattice Funeral Home.

Faye I. Daniels

Daniels will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. The Rev. Peter Morlock will be officiating. Visitation is Thursday, November 15 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg. Interment will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh. The Martin-Mattice Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Faye Irene Daniels, daughter of Irvin and Luella (Burke) Heitkamp, was born March 14, 1933 in Burnside. She received her education in Lehigh, graduating from Lehigh High School in 1951. On September 25, 1954, Faye was united in marriage to Jack Daniels in Dayton. To this union four children were born. Faye worked in several secretarial positions, including the Northwestern Telephone Company in Emmetsburg, Winkleblack & William's John Deere Implement, Iowa Trust and Savings Bank and Brownlee Management, Inc. She also worked at Saxton's Greenhouse until her retirement. Faye was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, serving on the Preschool and Endowment Boards. She was also a member of the Emmetsburg Country Club, serving on the Board for several years and she was member of the Ladies Golf Association as well. Faye volunteered for the Palo Alto County Hospital Auxiliary. Faye enjoyed golfing, shopping, traveling to see family and spending time with her children. She loved to drive the "Grandma Faye" bus from preschool to daycare and spoiling her grandchildren. Faye passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack; her parents, Irvin and Luella; her parents-in-law, John and Zelda Daniels; brother, Irvin "Jr." Heitkamp; and nephew, Dean Heitkamp. She is survived by her children, Dave Daniels (Karen Lucas) of Jacksonville, FL., Denise (Mark) White of Mount Vernon, Darca (Mark) Saxton of Emmetsburg, and Dawn Daniels of Emmetsburg; grandchildren, Casserly Daniels of Kehi, HI, Kyle Da...

Gilson Riecke

RIecke, 96, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at United Methodist Church in Ruthven. Rev. Tonna Parsons will officiate the service.Visitation will be conducted from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at Martin-Mattice Funeral Home in Ruthven.Interment will be conducted at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven.Gilson Donald Riecke, son of Carl August and Lydia (Neugebauer) Riecke, was born July 2, 1922, on the family’s farm near Corsica, South Dakota, where he lived until 1936 when the family moved to a farm near Ruthven, Iowa. He attended and graduated from the Ruthven High School, where he met Betty Carver. They were married Sept. 4, 1943. After Betty’s death, Gilson and Maxine Hansen shared the next 45 years of their lives together. Gilson farmed near Ruthven and turned his hobby of making toy tractors into a profession. He also owned a farm in Montana which he and Maxine enjoyed visiting together.Gilson passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at the Ruthven Community Care Center.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Riecke; brothers: Ray, Ralph and Stewart Riecke; a sister, Mabel; and Maxine’s daughter, Becky.He is survived by Maxine Hansen of Ruthven, Iowa; his children: Gary Riecke of Bigfork, Montana, Jonny Binkard of Ponca, Nebraska and Jay Riecke of Townsend, Montana; Maxine’s children: Denny Hansen of Ruthven, Iowa, Cindy Essick of Spencer, Iowa and Becky’s husband, Don Halder of Ruthven, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters: Ruth Olson of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Lily Costello of Millersburg, Pennsylvania and Inez Wheekly of Dillon, Montana.
